As a General Law Village, the Village of Lakeview remains part of Cato Township and maintains a close administrative relationship with the Township.
Regular meetings of the Cato Township Board are typically held on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Meeting dates and times may be adjusted due to holidays or other scheduling needs.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Planning Commission for Cato Township, Montcalm County, Michigan will hold public hearings at its regular meeting on May 13, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Cato Township Community Center, 309 S Lincoln Ave, Lakeview, MI 48850. The purpose of the public hearings is to (1) consider a Special Use permit request for an adult foster care home on property located at 7363 W Edgar Rd, Lakeview MI 48850 (Parcel 004-023-008-00), (2) consider amendments to the Township Zoning Ordinance to regulate cryptocurrency data mining facilities and data centers within the township, and (3) consider comprehensive amendments to the Township Zoning Ordinance.
A copy of the Special Use permit application and proposed ordinance amendments may be obtained at the Township Community Center during regular business hours, and the Township may charge a reasonable fee for copies. The Township will receive written comments concerning the Special Use permit request and proposed ordinance amendments at the Township Community Center, 309 S. Lincoln Ave Lakeview, MI 48850. Written comments must be received prior to the start of the public hearings.
This notice is posted in compliance with the Open Meetings Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Individuals with disabilities requiring auxiliary aids or services who are planning to attend the meeting should notify the Clerk, Ginger Imhoff, (989) 330-5570 within a reasonable time in advance of the meeting.
