The Cato Township offices are located in the Cato Community Center at 309 S. Lincoln Avenue downtown in Lakeview.
As a General Law Village, the Village of Lakeview remains part of Cato Township and maintains a close administrative relationship with the Township.
Regular meetings of the Cato Township Board are typically held on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Meeting dates and times may be adjusted due to holidays or other scheduling needs.

Fall 26 Clean-Up Day
Cato Township & the Village of Lakeview will hold a Joint clean-up day Saturday, September 12th from 8am to Noon on North Street in Lakeview. There is limited dumpster space and if dumpsters fill before 12:00 noon, the site will close early. Residents bringing materials are asked to have proof of residency to use this service. Examples would be a water or tax bill or picture ID with address. Lakeview Department of Public Works will be on-site to answer questions regarding items that will be accepted.

Montcalm County is updating its Solid Waste Management Plan to a Materials Management Plan per the State's (EGLE) implementation of Part 115 Updates to the Solid Waste regulations. The public comment period on the proposed draft (see link) ends on September 23, 2026. The Materials Management Planning Committee will meet on September 24, 2026, to review any comments received.
